Welcome to H4Community!
A community created by students, for students.
About Us + Our Story
H4 Community is a student-driven non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating curiosity, boosting creativity and building confidence. We aim to create a community of goal-getting, go-givers, focused on doing what we love and sharing it with others.
H4Community all started when two students agreed to help manage a social media account called @HowHipHopHelps. When the account started reaching a new audience we realized that we could do more than promote a Hip Hop program in schools. We wanted to reach more people and started recruiting our friends to help build our followers. 2 students quickly turned into 12 and more and more students kept finding our content willing to contribute.
When we started reaching thousands of students online every week, we realized this was bigger than social media and @H4Community was born. In 2019 we attended leadership camps, presented at student leadership board meetings, and started recruiting more of our followers to help build out our content.
In recent years, the team has continued to expand, running an event in November 2022 known as the “Human Library”, and presented at the I-LITE Leadership Conference in February 2024. Now we meet regularly to learn from our mentor and discuss strategies for how we can impact more students with our work. Our goals is to inspire other students to do what they love and work with us to achieve their goals.
